Motor and Controller

The most obvious task of a turntable is to keep the record at a constant and precise angular speed, without low-rate drift, without audible wow, and without high-frequency noise components, which detract from the music's delicacy.

To achieve this goal, a precision DC coreless drive motor was selected. The motor is powered by a sophisticated 'intelligent' motor controller, which measures the rotational speed of the platter by means of a sensor mounted in the subchassis of the turntable. This sensor scans a strobe pattern etched into the bottom of the platter, and constantly updates the motor controller. This guarantees the lowest possible motor vibration, as well as perfect speed accuracy and stability.

The motor resides in a heavy stand-alone pod, to eliminate vibrational breakthrough to the turntable.
